Rev. Don P. Guthrie

(1953-1998)

Rev. Don Guthrie was a minister, leader, and church planter.  A native Arkansan, Bro Guthrie graduated from Plainview / Rover High School, received a B.A. from Randall University (Moore, OK) and a Master of Ministry from Southern Nazarene University (Bethany, OK).  He was listed in the “Outstanding Young Men of America”.  Bro Guthrie pastored in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas.  He served as the Chairman of the Christian Education Board of the OK State Association, Board of Trustees for Randall University, Member of the Texas Home Mission Board, Member of the National Home Mission Board, and Chairman of the AR State Youth Board.  At the time of his death, Bro Guthrie was pastoring the Lake Hills Free Will Baptist Church in Hot Springs, AR. 

Each year, the Arkansas Student Ministries Division of Free Will Baptist awards up to Four (4) $500.00 scholarships (as funds are available)  to students who are pursuing their higher education while attending a Free Will Baptist College.
